How the Story begins
Hear the river rocking softly past the tall reeds. This story is true, from the Qur’an. It is the story of a tiny baby who floated down a great river, and of a mother who trusted Allah with all her heart. That baby grew up to be the Prophet Musa, peace be upon him, one of Allah’s great messengers. Let’s find out how Allah looked after him.
Long, long ago, in the land of Egypt, there was a king called Pharaoh. Pharaoh was very proud, and he behaved as if he was the greatest of all. The Qur’an tells us that he split the people of his land into groups, and he was cruel to one group, the Children of Israel. He made life very hard for them, and he had made a cruel rule that put their baby boys in danger.
But Allah sees everything. The Qur’an tells us that Allah wanted to be kind to the people who were being treated unfairly. He wanted to make them leaders, and to give them a land of their own. Pharaoh was proud and powerful, but Allah is more powerful than any king. And Allah’s plan began with one tiny baby.
