How the Story begins
Long, long ago, a man prayed to Allah for a child. This true story comes from the Qur’an. It is the story of the Prophet Ibrahim, peace be upon him, and his son, the Prophet Ismail, peace be upon him. It is a story about a very big test, and about a father and a son who trusted Allah with their whole hearts. And it is a story about a ram. Let’s find out together.
Ibrahim spent his life calling people to worship Allah alone. One day, he set off on a journey, and the Qur’an has kept his words for us. He said: I am going to my Lord. He will guide me. Ibrahim did not know every step of the road ahead. But he knew that Allah would show him the way, and that was enough for him.
As he went, Ibrahim made a dua. He asked: My Lord, give me a child who is one of the righteous. Ibrahim was not young any more. The Qur’an tells us that Allah gave him his sons when he was already old. But Ibrahim knew that nothing is too hard for Allah, and that Allah hears every dua. So he asked, and he trusted, and he waited.
