How the Story begins

Ibrahim spoke the truth when almost nobody else would. His story is true, from the Qur’an. It is the story of the Prophet Ibrahim, peace be upon him. The Qur’an tells us that Ibrahim was a truthful man, and a prophet. Even when he was young, Allah had given him wisdom and good sense. This is the story of a town full of statues, and one young man who was brave enough to speak the truth. Let’s begin.

In Ibrahim’s town, people carved statues with their own hands. They sat before them, and bowed down to them, and called on them for help. They really believed these statues could do things for them. Even Ibrahim’s own father worshipped the idols. But Ibrahim knew the truth. Only Allah made us. Only Allah can hear us. Only Allah can help us.

Ibrahim spoke to his father first, and he spoke so gently. He said: My dear father, why do you worship something that cannot hear, and cannot see, and cannot help you at all? My dear father, some knowledge has come to me that never reached you. So come with me, and I will show you a straight and even path.
