Dawud and Jalut
A small group of believers, led by Talut, trusts Allah when they face a very big army. Among them is Dawud, who would one day become a prophet, peace be upon him. The story teaches us that being few does not matter when Allah is with the patient.
From the StoryThe Children of Israel were going through a difficult time. The Qur’an tells us that they had been driven out of their homes, and parted from their children. So their leaders went to a prophet who lived among them. The Qur’an does not tell us his name. They said to him, “Send us a king, and we will fight in the way of Allah.” They wanted to win back what they had lost.

Dawud's Beautiful Voice
The Prophet Dawud, peace be upon him, is a king and a prophet with a beautiful voice. When he praises Allah, the mountains and the birds praise Allah with him. Allah also makes iron soft in his hands, and he eats only food he has earned by his own work.
From the StoryDawud was a king, and he was a prophet too. Allah made his kingdom strong, and gave him wisdom, and the gift of speaking clearly and judging fairly. The Qur’an calls Dawud a man of strength. And it tells us something even more special about him. Dawud always turned back to Allah, again and again. Whatever happened, his heart turned to Allah.
