Munira

Munira for Android: join the beta

Munira is coming to Android phones and tablets. Before it opens to everyone on Google Play, it is in a closed beta, and anyone can join. The beta is the whole app: the same Stories, Scenes, Quiz and Moral as on iPhone and iPad.

Use one Google account for every step: the account that is signed in to the Play Store on your phone or tablet. The steps work on the phone itself or on a computer.

Join in three steps

  1. Join the Munira beta group. Open the Munira beta group on Google Groups and tap Join group. Anyone can join. Members can’t see each other, and only Munira posts in it.
    Join the beta group
  2. Become a tester. Open Munira’s testing page on Google Play and tap Become a tester.
    Open the testing page
  3. Install Munira from Google Play. Open Munira on Google Play and tap Install. Until the public release this page works only for testers, and it can take a few minutes after step 2 before it does.
    Open Munira on Google Play

What you need

What is in the beta

Everything Munira does on iPhone and iPad: true Stories from the Qur’an and authentic hadith, narrated Page by Page over hand-drawn Scenes, then a short picture Quiz and one Moral to carry into tomorrow. Bedtime Mode dims the screen and fades the narration to silence, Stories play offline, and the 5 Free Stories are free from the first evening. No ads and no account.

Plans in the beta

Yearly and Lifetime purchases in the beta are real Google Play purchases. They are charged to your Google Play account, confirmed in Google Play’s own payment sheet, and they carry over to the public release on the same Google account. The 5 Free Stories are the same as on iPhone and iPad, so there is no need to buy anything to test Munira.

The details are in the Terms of Use and the Privacy Policy.

Tell us what you find

Write to hello@munira.app with “Android beta” in the subject. Tell us your phone or tablet model and Android version, and what you did just before the problem. A person reads every message.

Leaving the beta

Open the testing page again and tap Leave the program. Then you can uninstall Munira. Your Heard Stories and settings live only on your phone, so uninstalling removes them.

Questions

Who can join the beta?

Anyone with an Android phone or tablet on Android 7.0 or later and a Google account. You don’t need to be invited: join the group, become a tester, then install.

Why do I have to join a Google Group?

Google Play opens a closed beta to the members of a Google Group. Joining the group is what lets your Google account see the test. Members can’t see each other, and only Munira posts in the group.

Google Play says the app isn’t available. What now?

Check that you joined the group and tapped Become a tester with the same Google account that is signed in to the Play Store. If your phone has more than one account, tap your profile picture in the Play Store and switch to that account. It can take a few minutes after you opt in before the install page works, so wait a little and try again.

Will my child’s progress be kept when Munira is released to everyone?

Yes. The public release arrives as an ordinary update to the same app, so Heard Stories and settings stay on your phone. Nothing about your child leaves the phone.

Does a plan bought on iPhone or iPad unlock Munira on Android?

No. A purchase on iPhone or iPad belongs to your Apple ID, and a purchase on Android to your Google Play account. Munira has no account that could link the two.

When will Munira be on Google Play for everyone?

After the closed test. Google asks for at least 12 testers to stay in a closed test for 14 days before an app can be released to everyone, so every tester who stays in helps. This page will say so when Munira is public.

On iPhone or iPad? Munira is on the App Store.
